Building a remote focuser for the Vixen refractor & reflectors which have ASCOM compliant serial
interfaces and controllers. There is an Ascom starter script for Microsoft JScript here : ASCOM Jscript
The stepper motor and encoder interfaces are already written
JScript for copying webcam captures and timestamping them : used to capture and create the
Venus transit movie from the DCAM image captures imagecopier.js.
This script waits for the next image to be grabbed by DCAM into the capture folder
then copies it and timestamps the file.

The BIG project of putting the entire web
telescope control project together. This project is all about using a webserver
hosting a serial-port controlled telescope protocol to allow anyone from the
internet ( ie me from work ) to open the observatory and control the telescope.
What's more it's open-source. If its useful - help yourself from
here
This code contains JDBC code to talk to :
- mySQL star and observing catalogue database
- Java astronomical algorithms library
- serial class driver beans using the javaxComm interface
- a complete star map servlet
,
The last of which produces
star maps from a mySQL database containing (for example the SAO database) and the oberver position ad telescope combination

A webcam servlet in java to capture webcam output ( in this particular case from a Philips ToUcam but also for
any webcam appearing as a VFW object ) to a webpage and control a pan and tilt mount remotely.
The pan and tilt platform is assembled from two RC servos controlled by a Milford Instruments serial servo controller.
You will need Caucho Resin or another servlet container such as Toncat or JBoss for your webserver,
a pan and tilt mount with serial controller, the Javax Comm library and
the Java MultiMedia Class library (JMF). The code is here :
