Dark Taking Script

This is an end of the night script
that parks the scope (if
desired), flushes the chip (in
case bright data frames were taken recently), takes a pile of
darks, and then if desired, warms up and shuts down the camera.
Go directly to the form.
If you don't run your observing computer connected to the web, feel free to
copy the page, and its include files, and run it off line.
Features:
- Web page driven user interface
- parameters stored in a cookie between sessions (even for local sessions)
- status of sequence shown at bottom of browser
- client side invocation (runs your equipment, not mine, with no copying
required)
- Automatic file naming and handling
- duration and binning encoded into name (to ease processing)
- directory creation when needed
- file clobber protection (new files get guaranteed new names)
Warnings:
- Sorry, not functional with Netscape Navigator (IE / ActiveX only)
- Test this script first to make sure it works with your set-up.
- This script runs via ActiveX controls provided by MaxIm DL/CCD . MaxIm DL/CCD
must be installed on your system in order for this script to run.
- Since MaxIm DL/CCD creates files, its ActiveX components are not "safe".
Internet Explorer options have to be set to at least "prompt" rather than
"disable" for ActiveX controls not marked "safe".
- For Internet Explorer this is done in the Tools menu, Internet Options
item, Security tab.
- You will not need to do this if you download this page, and the include
files, and execute it locally.
- "Park scope at start" has only been tested for ACP 1.3 users.
Usage and tips:
- Fill out form, remembering to specify a fresh directory for the blizzard
of files about to automatically gathered
- press the [Start Exposures] button
- Monitor IE status line (at bottom of browser) to ensure exposure
proceeding cleanly
